Our events wouldn’t happen without the support of our volunteers.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved with an exciting charity whether you’re new to Greenpower or have taken part before as a competitor.
There are lots of opportunities to get up close to the cars and find out about the teams from the young people themselves.
These jobs include, but are not limited to:
Judging for the supplementary awards such as Best Presented Team and Best Engineered car.
Scrutineering at the beginning of the day to make sure all cars meet the regulations and are safe to race.
Marshalling in the pit lane or out on the track.
Recovery vehicle work to help rescue the cars when they break down.
If you’ve been involved with Greenpower for a while and feel that you’re as enthusiastic as we are about the project we’d love you to help us with mentoring a team local to you. It’s great for teams to have a link to local industries, especially in primary schools that do not have specialist D&T staff. This also links well with our ambassadors who are needed to promote Greenpower in their local region by talking to schools, businesses and representing us at events and shows.
