2017 Technical and Sporting Regulations - Regulation T10.9 2019 update

Siemens PLM Engineering and Design award is now open for entries

Siemens PLM Engineering and Design award is once again open for entries for the 2017 season.

Entrants must submit renderings of either an element of and/or a Greenpower Car that has been designed in Siemens Solid Edge software, or Siemens NX software, in order to be in for a chance to win one the beautifully designed Siemens PLM Engineering and Design awards.

The award is open to both IET Formula 24 and IET Formula 24 + teams, with separate awards for both categories and an amazing £600 cash prize awarded to your team.

The Arthur Terry School Named As The First Greenpower Centre Of Excellence

Sutton Coldfield based Arthur Terry School, has been announced as the first Centre of Excellence for the West Sussex based Charity, Greenpower Education Trust. The Arthur Terry School have been in involved with Greenpower Education Trust’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) project for five years, and has experienced the positive effect the project can have not only on individual students, but the schools as a whole.


High demand for Hull kit car race forces move to new venue

Over 60 electric kit cars are set to be raced around Hull’s KCOM Stadium this summer as part of an exciting education project. The race has been moved by organisers from the city centre to the stadium, due to unprecedented interest in attending the event from members of the public.


Plumpton Goblins 2017

20 teams of incredibly enthusiastic and excited students descended on Plumpton College on Saturday 18th March for another successful event. Each team nominated six drivers to complete the drag and slalom races in the fastest times possible throughout the morning. After a quick break for lunch it was time for the teams to go head to head in the sprint heats, with the fastest from each heat going through to the semi-finals and eventually the final, which always gets the crowd shouting and cheering!

BMW i Become National Greenpower Partner

Greenpower Education Trust, a UK based charity that inspires young people about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) has now entered a national partnership for 2017 with BMW i, the sustainable mobility division of German car giant, BMW. 

The support that will be provided by BMW i will allow the Greenpower Education Trust to support and inspire more young people to think about careers in all STEM subjects.

Three way tie kicks of the 2017 IET Formula Goblin season at HMS Excellent

Over 180 students from 17 primary school teams travelled from various areas of both Hampshire and Sussex, to battle it out to become crowned as the overall winner at the first IET Formula Goblin event of the 2017 season at HMS Excellent. Each team completed in a slalom, drag race and sprint event during the course of the day, but results ended in a three way tie between St Mary’s School Clymping, Pennthorpe School and Funtington Primary school.

Ford Dunton & Luton Events

We are pleased to announce that we have been able to confirm dates for the joint Goblin and IET Formula 24 at Ford Dunton (Essex) for Saturday 1st July.


We have also been able to confirm a new venue for the Luton Goblin event, which will be moving to Luton Sixth Form College, and the event will be taking place on Saturday 29th April.
