Saturday 21st May 2016 – the weather wasn’t kind to us on Saturday, but we did manage to avoid a big downpour, the teams weren’t phased and were all in great spirits throughout the day and the rain!
We had a number of brand new teams racing alongside our regular participants and it was great to see how much effort had gone into the project from old and new teams alike – we were lucky to yet again receive a large number of portfolios, all of which were creative and full of all the amazing things the teams had been up to in the build up to race day!
On Saturday 14th May we returned to one of our favourite venues on the sunny South coast – Banjo Road, Littlehampton. We may be a little biased, as it is just down the road from our office – but if you have ever seen Goblins race around a hair-pin bend, you will understand why we love it!
Today the last "old" Greenpower Goblin has been sold – if you have been keeping up to date with all things Greenpower you will know that there is a brand new Goblin on the way! The new Goblin is currently in the last stages of production and will be released very soon for sale. The new kit will continue to use many of the same or similar components as the old Goblin – the biggest change will be the chassis, which is no longer the tubular design.
On the bright and sunny morning of Saturday 7th May we headed to Ford Dunton for the annual Essex Goblin event – the weather was the best we have had all year and the event was the biggest to date, it was a great day for Greenpower. All of the teams arrived full on enthusiasm – the effort that had been made building the cars and designing the bodywork was obvious from the word go, we received a portfolio from nearly every single team and all of them were full with details of their build process.
Six months after the International Final filled the Rockingham paddock, it was time to visit again – but this time for the 2016 Season Opener.
With beautiful blue skies overhead, teams arrived ready to get back on track after 6 months off. The day started with a 3 hour track testing session, which allows new teams to get their first taste of track action as well as providing some team’s an opportunity to train any newly recruited drivers, as well as get some system checks underway on their cars.
