Renishaw Goblins

Becci, Tuesday 24th May, 2016

Saturday 21st May 2016 – the weather wasn’t kind to us on Saturday, but we did manage to avoid a big downpour, the teams weren’t phased and were all in great spirits throughout the day and the rain!

We had a number of brand new teams racing alongside our regular participants and it was great to see how much effort had gone into the project from old and new teams alike – we were lucky to yet again receive a large number of portfolios, all of which were creative and full of all the amazing things the teams had been up to in the build up to race day!

Banjo Road Goblins 2016

Becci, Thursday 19th May, 2016

On Saturday 14th May we returned to one of our favourite venues on the sunny South coast – Banjo Road, Littlehampton. We may be a little biased, as it is just down the road from our office – but if you have ever seen Goblins race around a hair-pin bend, you will understand why we love it!

End of an era.

Becci, Monday 16th May, 2016

Today the last "old" Greenpower Goblin has been sold – if you have been keeping up to date with all things Greenpower you will know that there is a brand new Goblin on the way! The new Goblin is currently in the last stages of production and will be released very soon for sale. The new kit will continue to use many of the same or similar components as the old Goblin – the biggest change will be the chassis, which is no longer the tubular design.

Ford Dunton Goblins 2016

Becci, Thursday 12th May, 2016

On the bright and sunny morning of Saturday 7th May we headed to Ford Dunton for the annual Essex Goblin event – the weather was the best we have had all year and the event was the biggest to date, it was a great day for Greenpower. All of the teams arrived full on enthusiasm – the effort that had been made building the cars and designing the bodywork was obvious from the word go, we received a portfolio from nearly every single team and all of them were full with details of their build process.

Rockingham Season Opener 2016

Laura, Monday 9th May, 2016

Six months after the International Final filled the Rockingham paddock, it was time to visit again – but this time for the 2016 Season Opener.

With beautiful blue skies overhead, teams arrived ready to get back on track after 6 months off. The day started with a 3 hour track testing session, which allows new teams to get their first taste of track action as well as providing some team’s an opportunity to train any newly recruited drivers, as well as get some system checks underway on their cars.

Seaford College Goblins 2016

Becci, Wednesday 4th May, 2016

Saturday 30th April – the beginning to a (mostly) sunny bank holiday weekend, Greenpower pitched up at Seaford College, West Sussex to run our fourth Goblin event of 2016. The college was, as always a stunning setting for a busy day of Goblin racing – with 24 teams, mostly from Sussex taking part.

The event is now in the second year and has grown from a smaller offering to 15 local teams to the 24 participating this year and we can only see it growing as the project continues to grow locally and throughout the UK.

Stevenage Goblins 2016

Becci, Wednesday 27th April, 2016

Saturday 23rd April – our first Stevenage Goblin event at the Da Vinci Studio School, with lots of brand new Greenpower teams, it was an exciting day for the Goblins! Although a chilly start the teams and volunteers attended with enthusiasm and excitement. The day’s racing didn’t go without challenges, but despite the breakdowns the teams remained in high spirits.
