The 2007 Greenpower Formula 24 and 35 season got
underway in style at the Fordingbridge Season
Opener event at Goodwood on April 29th.
The new 4 hour, no charging, format for F24 cars
proved highly successful, with no cars running out of
power in the last hour of racing! |
|
|
Selwood Solutions, Timekeepers at
all Greenpower F24 and F35 events
have an excellent new timekeeping
solution in place for the 2007 season
which will be highly useful for teams
with wireless enabled laptop
computers! |
|
Steve and Scott Wallis, whom many
of you will have seen marshalling at
Greenpower events have come up
with this excellent scheme, which
they introduced at the Season
Opener and will be implemented at
all Greenpower events from now on.
Refuse sacks for drinks cans and
plastic bottles only will be placed at
various locations, and we urge all
competitors and spectators to think
‘green’ and place these items in the
correct bin, which will be taken away
for recycling. |
|
Following the new format of the 2007
calendar, Goblin teams should note
that a couple of new events are now
taking place. These are at Rockingham
Motor Speedway, Northants on 3rd
July and Darley Moor Circuit,
Staffordshire, on 15th September.

2007 Event Format & Regulations Review |

The Fordingbridge Season Opener on Sunday 29th
April at the Goodwood Motor Circuit was used to try
out the proposed new race formats for Formula 24, 35
and Streamliner.
The race was a great success and highlighted both
good and bad points of the new format. We have
reviewed all regulations, and from this have drawn a
number of conclusions, which also include a minor
regulation change regarding bodywork on standard
Formula 24 cars. |

In view of the short lead time available for teams to
get an entry together for an August date for the
Corporate Challenge we have made the decision to
delay the event to 2008, when it will take place over the weekend of 26th/27th April at the Goodwood Motor
Racing Circuit. The Earl of March is particularly keen
to host this event and we will be promoting it on our
stand at this year’s Festival of Speed at Goodwood. |
