'Pit Stop Challenge' a great success at Autosport International 2012

This weekend the Greenpower team revved up at the Autosport International Car Racing Show 2012. Held in Birmingham this annual event brings together all areas of motorsport from Go Karting to Formula One. Greenpower were lucky enough to be right in the thick of it, raising awareness of the Greenpower programme and daring passers by to have a go at the ‘Pit Stop Challenge’!

Over 50 teams of pairs took part in the timed challenge which required each driver to get securely in and out of the car, with a few added star jumps chucked in for good measure. The average time was just 40 seconds with the winning team storming through at 22.28 seconds. Congratulations to Jamie and Mike who have won themselves a year’s subscription to Autosport Magazine.

For those already on the Greenpower programme the challenge offered a little extra practice for those crucial race days, the teams from Sandbach High School, Streetly School and Jaguar Land Rover couldn’t resist showing us how it was done. A big thank you to the teams for helping out on the day.
