Greenpower Education Trust, a UK based charity that inspires young people about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) has now entered a national partnership for 2017 with BMW i, the sustainable mobility division of German car giant, BMW.
The support that will be provided by BMW i will allow the Greenpower Education Trust to support and inspire more young people to think about careers in all STEM subjects.
BMW i will be supporting at various IET Formula 24 events during the 2017 season, which will allow competitors and spectators to learn all about the technology and sustainable features of the BMW i3 and BMW i8.
Jeremy Way, CEO of Greenpower, commented ‘We are so thrilled to announce that BMW i is now a national partner of Greenpower Education Trust.’
‘This is a new and exciting phase for us to have such a well-established automotive manufacturer in the sustainable mobility field supporting us. BMW i is a brand that the competitors can really identify with. ’
‘We feel BMW i is a perfect fit for the charity, as our current competitors are the sustainable engineers of the future. The support BMW i will provide will help to nurture talent right from the initial spark of interest in STEM subjects, and it will provide them with a field of talented engineers in the future.’
Suzie Hunter, BMW i Partnership Manager also commented on the new partnership, “BMW i are delighted to be announced as the new Greenpower national partner for 2017 and we look forward to being able to offer supporters the chance to test drive an i3 at the forthcoming events. The BMW i3 and i8 are built from the ground up with sustainable mobility and sheer driving enjoyment at the heart and so we have a lot in common with the cars the teams are looking to create.”
BMW i will be represented at the first IET Formula 24 and IET Formula 24 + event of the 2017 season at Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby, on Wednesday 3rd May. The event is open to the public, with free admission.
