Greenpower set to return with three events in 2020

17 August 2020

The Greenpower team is pleased to confirm our intention to hold two initial events for our F24 and F24+ teams as schools, colleges, and universities begin their preparations to return for the start of a new term.

It was with huge regret that we had to cancel events so far this year, but as restrictions have started to ease and with input from our Greenpower community, we have now determined the locations we could hold events at for the remainder of 2020.

We intend to hold events at Castle Combe (13 September) and Goodwood Motor Circuit (11 October). Detailed planning and risk assessments have taken place and the Greenpower team is confident it can operate in a safe manner while also providing teams the enjoyable experience participants expect from a Greenpower event. We are working hard to confirm an additional event to take place in 2020 and hope to announce it soon.

So far, we have had a great response from the teams who wish to take part in the 2 events we have opened so far and spaces are filling up fast. There are still places available if you do wish to attend - to find out more, visit our event calendar and view our dedicated event pages.

Greenpower is constantly reviewing and updating its safety procedures to follow the most recent guidance of the Government and Motorsport UK. The latest information can be found at https://www.greenpower.co.uk/events and information will be distributed to participants closer to the events.

CEO of Greenpower, Paul van Veggel said: “Everybody at Greenpower is very happy and excited to be able to bring racing back on track with three events in the coming months. After such a long time away from the track, we’re looking forward to giving our participants the opportunity to showcase their hard work. We appreciate certain venues may not be easily accessible for some of our teams, but we had to be mindful of maximising our charitable purpose when choosing which venues we could hold events at. These venues offer us a practical solution to implement necessary measures to help us ensure the safety of all our participants. This year has been difficult for everybody and though this is a limited programme, we are working hard towards a return to our full range of events as soon as is practical.”
